We Need Your Support - Learn More!
In 2025, ACISS, Inc., in collaboration with the Resilient Adaptation across Culture and Context (RACC) Lab at the University of Maryland (College Park), will launch its Group Therapy Program to augment its existing personal therapeutic services for victims of domestic abuse. This new initiative aims to extend our support to the larger community as a means of giving back, focusing on victims of all trauma (domestic abuse, war crimes, human/child trafficking, female genital mutilation, etc.). The program is designed to create a safe and nurturing environment where participants can develop peer relationships, build self-esteem, and raise awareness of traumatic situations within immigrant communities. Please see the ongoing campaign for this initiative.
The Group Therapy Program will provide a structured space to share their experiences and support each other in their healing journeys. By fostering a sense of community and mutual understanding, we aim to empower our community to regain control over their lives and make informed decisions about their futures. Our skilled therapists and facilitators will guide the groups, ensuring that each session is productive and supportive.
As the program progresses, we plan to expand its reach and addressing other issues such as trauma, mental health, and integration challenges. Our goal is to build a comprehensive support system that not only aids individual recovery but also strengthens the community as a whole.
Through this initiative, ACISS, Inc. aims to bring about meaningful change by breaking the cycle of abuse and promoting a culture of support and resilience. By raising awareness of domestic abuse within immigrant communities, we hope to foster an environment where victims feel safe, understood, and empowered to seek help and support.
Ultimately, the Group Therapy Program is a testament to our commitment to serving and uplifting our community, ensuring that every individual has access to the care and support they need to thrive.
